How would a person use bitcoin to pay for anything?

If one is valued at $50,000?

Would I buy a pair of shoes with 0.00011 of a bitcoin? How do you keep track of that?!

Or is it going to just be a currency for the uber rich? ie. I'll give you 5 bitcoins for that ferrari or here's 10 bitcoins for that Manhatten apartment?

Just trying to make sense of it all.
