Positive Comments on BNN today (April 28)

Stephen Takacsy - CIO, Lester Management spoke highly of the company. He owns just under 10%. He did reference that Lassonde bought their current position at $0.19. The company should do well coming out of the current slowdown. He referenced the possibility of DWS possibly doing acquisitions of smaller wineries that are currently struggling.
He also referenced positive fundamentals of ADW/A and the fact that US winery mergers into SPACs are currently being done at substantually higher valuations than the current ADW/ price ($10.88)
Personally, having followed Mr. Takacsy for a number of years, I am impressed with the thoroughness of his research and his ability to identify small and mid-cap opportunities.

Here's what stockchase shows for the interview ; sometimes they don't capture everything as your ccomments show. They classed it as a HOLD. Diamond Estates Wines and Spirits Inc. (DWS-X) April 28, 2021   Great assets, great business. Results have held steady through the pandemic. Afterwards, lots of high margin areas ...more

He owns just under 10% of the company.  Word has it he has been more active recently.  Hopefully he gets these guys on the right track.

You don't buy 10% of a company unless you feel it has potential.   This will be bought out.  Sure as God made little green apples, Lassonde is going to buy them.  They want the wine grocery business.

If you're so certain that this company will be bought out, then what do you think Lassonde is waiting for? Serious question, because I keep hearing all this chatter about DWS being bought by Lassonde; but if Lassonde is trying to buy out DWS, then I don't understand why they're waiting to buy the DWS shares, unless their expectation is that DWS shares will be cheaper a month or two ...more

Interesting company here...but dont believe all the hype on BNN...remember these guests all have an agenda. I would never (repeat never) buy a stock the day its recommended on BNN as the pump "always" leads to a dump in the following days. Good Luck.

Careful what u write, someone might block you. I lol at those people.

If the guy was going to buy it out, why wouldn't he/she have paid .18 as there been ten of thousand for sell. Also why does stocks shares always go up when someone on bnn says things and a week later it's down?

This company can't be valued or compared to its peers using a sales ratio. It doesn't make any money and therefore can't pay off its interest.  Won't be able to pay off the debt without any free cash flow. The $400k in adjusted EBITDA in the last quarter was due to a) decreased advertising spend of $300k and b) wage subsidy of $100k.  Both temporary.  Check the MD ...more

screamer99...good points. The stock has had a BNN "pump" and is now experiencing the "dump"...a pull back seems likely to around the 15 cent level as volume tapers down. Classic.

Condor is also a perrenially loser.  He loses at everything.  He shorts oil stocks and gets his asssss handed to him.  Funny thing, he has no money.

You can't even spell or write properly.  Are you mentally challenged?  Keep your helmut on when you eat your taters.

dogatcat...I thought they locked you up...good to see you are still around for some entertainment.

SXP......Screamer was screaming buy at $3.32.......it is $2.21...he is mentally challenged and broke.   Good analysis!   This quarter's EBITDA is $5.5m.  If you round down to $5.0m, get $20m for ther year, you have $162m enterprise value when you apply an 8x multiple (I'd argue that you can apply a 10x multiple).  With $71m in debt and $4.3 in cash, you ...more

Thank you for the compliment. That post was on Aug. 14/20 when the SP was $1.24.  It is now $2.27 - an 83% gain and yes, I think there is plenty more to come with their latest acquistion.  So to clarify, I was screaming buy at $1.24 and it was at that level that the "easy double from here" comment was made. Who would have thought a paper and envelope company would have done ...more

As expected the volume is now drying up after a couple 1M+ trade days on the BNN pump. Classic. Can the stock now hold 20 cents and make that the new support level? Perhaps, but I am so sure.

Lassonde is an owner.   They are partnering with DWS.  A pure play, small cap winery will likely get more concessions from the government than a multi-conglomerate juicing biz.   More access is coming to the grocery market.   Nice that bashers show up.  Good for street cred/
