Argh ...

It sucks to be here.
In the one corner iamwcw and others tell us that DZR is done.  It has crossed the razors edge, missed chopping in the ice axe, failed to dig in the crampons and is heading for the cliff.
In the other corner is Bob Lamond's reputation, his dignitas, præstigum, etc.

Bob's plans sound good.  Drill for heavy oil which we know is there.  The problems are water, sand, and less oil flow than originally planned.  Is this bad luck, bad execution of the plan, or poor management?  We can argue both sides.  What Diaz really needs is a good well.  Or perhaps JV some land to get cash ...
I've never met Bob Lamond, but I can say his webcasts exude humour and wit, he is no dummy.  OTOH he is the Scottish lad who moved to Canada and made his fortune.  He has done very well and could retire tomorrow, he has no need for further glory.   I am in the camp that believes he wants to salvage this and come out with another win.  I may be too optimistic, but I hope that by amalgamating the Diaz, Tuscany, Sharon series of companies he can circle the wagons and get some cash flow.
We are talking micro-cap companies so all they really need are a decent well or two.  Cash flow is critical - will Bob throw the dice with an equity injection, or will he retreat?  Will they flog some SK land for cash and JV with others ... I wish I knew.  All I know is this has been a frustrating time knowing that one small success could do wonders for the share price and yet we have not had any such luck.
GLTA ....

Yeah, I was afraid of that.  Merger of low cash flow. high debt, companies may just create the same problem - but bigger, however there may be some economies of scale.  I know Bob had a bunch of  land in Texas that was acquired just before the bottom fell out of the gas market, so that was a case of bad timing.  OTOH didn't Humbold Capital also hold shares in a Texas ...more
