Looks like we may have solved the mystery!
They are a very wealthy investing family in Quito. They own pretty much everything from the malls to import export business. The father, Alberto, started back in the 60's. They are both muli multi millionaires. He has been purchasing under his own name but through DD, found that he also purchases though "Aura Investment Services", of which HE OWNES!! This is all circumstancial of course. He may not be the of buying through Aura, but he ownes it and is buying shares of EGX. He just bought a load over the last few weeks. I suspect that this is a VERY good sign. He bought a boat load on Friday as well. (Thanks for pointing it out BlindRoad!!).
The TSX Venture Exchange added 5.43 points to 1,028.41 Monday, ending the month up 44.42 points. In June, no new capital pool shells listed on the exchange, compared with three in June of 2013. So far this year, six capital pool shells have listed, averaging one a month, compared with 21 by this time last year. Although the number of new capital pool shell listings is down significantly, there is no shortage, with many, many unused shells available for a qualifying transaction. There are 162 capital pool companies on the exchange, of which 46 are halted, 45 are suspended, and 71 are trading (rarely) and in search of a deal.
Clifford Mah's halted capital pool shell, Bluerock Ventures Corp. (BCR), plans to acquire Rush Valley Gold Corp. for 26.83 million shares as its QT. The target owns rights to about 5,700 acres in Tooele county, Utah. This is another QT being arranged by an old venture exchange fixture named Glenn Laing, a mining engineer by training. He will become the chief executive officer of Bluerock after the QT closes. Mr. Laing, no promoter, regularly uses capital pool shells to launch his target companies which always have mineral properties. In July, 2012, his Ecuador Gold and Copper Corp. (EGX: $0.08) went public through Glen Murphy's capital pool shell, Enterprise Capital Corp. Ecuador Gold, which has more than 237 million shares issued (of which 128,063,587 belong to Michel Deller's Aura International Services Ltd.), is exploring the Condor copper-gold project in Ecuador. Since listing in July, 2012, the stock has traded between two cents and 15 cents, a significant premium to the 0.1 cent that Mr. Laing paid for each of his four million shares, which according to SEDI he still owns. Following Ecuador Gold, in April, 2014, Mr. Laing launched a new gold company, Phoenix Gold Resources Corp. (PXA: $0.03), which went public through Mike Gillis's capital pool shell, Zuri Capital Corp. Phoenix owns gold properties in Nevada, but so far investors have paid no attention to the company. Mr. Laing responded to the lack of interest last week by paying a combined $150,000 to three IR companies, which will provide various services for 12 months. Perhaps there will be more progress next month. Long before managing his own promotions, Mr. Laing worked for Fred Christensen, a former broker and promoter who died years ago and whose most recent promotional involvement was Lytton Minerals Inc. in the 1990s. Mr. Laing does not receive official credit for his disappointing companies because he did not package the shells and was not with the shells at the time of their IPOs.
