Emergeo hires seasoned emergency manager, developers and sales staff
The company has hired Lance Stephenson as director of emergency management services, Emergeo Software Solutions Middle East LLC (a foreign subsidiary of Emergeo Solutions Worldwide). Mr. Stephenson will be assigned to the company's Abu Dhabi-based office in February, 2009.
Mr. Stephenson brings three decades of hands-on emergency management experience including clinical, managerial, training, leadership, communications, media relations, marketing, labour relations, and fire suppression and response. He spent 22 years with the Calgary's EMS department, 10 years with STARS (Shock Trauma Air Rescue Society), four years as the director of EMS for the State of Qatar and two years as the task force leader with the federally mandated Canada Task Force 2. He was also a key player in the development of a peacetime and wartime disaster plan for the United States Military in Qatar. Mr. Stephenson also has a strong academic background with a master of arts degree in leadership and training, many professional diplomas, and several awards, including the Canadian EMS Exemplary Medal of Canada and Alberta's Emergency Service Medal.
Emergeo confirms that David Cross has joined Emergeo as development manager and he will be supported by two new developers: Michael Coyle and Barry Bell. Stephen MacGillivray has also joined the sales team as account executive.
New sales
Over the last quarter, the company has secured over $700,000 in new software sales and services revenues from contracts with nuclear facilities, including Bruce Power (Ontario), large oil and gas organizations such as Nexen and Syncrude, municipalities such as Bruce County, provincial organizations such as Ornge (Ontario Air Ambulance), and educational institutions such as University of Windsor.
Emergeo Version 4 has been very well received since its release, and many existing customers are upgrading to the latest ESRI Arcgisa-based technology platform.
Alliances
Emergeo and CAE Professional Services have signed a teaming agreement to globally market, integrate and implement the CAE C2-Sim suite of simulation tools and services that provide emergency management commanders and front-line responders with an integrated simulation-based common operating picture environment.
