Handwriting Recognition

The May 21st announcement regarding the handwriting patent was interesting and welcome news.

A cursory Google search brings up dozens of APPS available to apparently accomplish the same thing. These APPS range in price from .99 cents to $5 dollars.

Are these APPS in violation of Empower's patent or do they use another method to accomplish the same goal?

If they are technically different methods is Empower's technology superior? Equal? Or just different with some advantages and disadvantages when compared to the other APPS?

Are there any [major] smart phone or tablet makers currently in violation of Empower's patent?

Defending a patent is very expensive. One look at Empower's financial statements by a company in violation and they may be tempted to simply drag it through the courts exhausting Empower's meagre bank account.

It also would have been nice to see a comment regarding EDS and the 2nd purchase order announced March 12. Is the contract moving forward and on time?

These are questions that were left unanswered in the last announcement. If the answers were positive they could help to improve the outlook of the company, especially with the prospect of another financing on the horizon.

So you wait for news on something good happening and what do you get? They're handing themselves 3 million options. And after these many years what are they doing for value add to the shareholders?

I have to admit I found that very strange as well. JB
