TORONTO, ON / ACCESSWIRE / March 5, 2024 / Canada Jetlines Operations Ltd. (Cboe CA:CJET) ("Canada Jetlines" or the "Company") announced a strategic wet lease agreement with a prominent European carrier. The agreement underscores the surging global demand for A320 aircraft.

Set to begin with one aircraft in late April 2024 for a period of 6 months and with a second aircraft in late June for a period of 3 months, the collaboration reflects Canada Jetlines operational ability in maximizing fleet utilization by deploying its aircraft and crew to Europe in the summer.

Eddy Doyle, Jetlines CEO, stated, "In January, we announced the expansion of our fleet to 6 aircraft. The utilization of these planes is widely needed in Europe during their busy season. The two planes will return to Canada for our busy fall/winter travel period to leisure destinations. I was going to post this yesterday but then it showed up on the board as a paid piece. I assumed that Flyht had paid for it but it seems Canada Jetlines did. It keeps disappearing and reappearing and shows up on other boards, notably OSS (One Stop Systems)..

Notice that the planes will not go to Europe for a couple of months so I am hoping that they will have AFIRS Edge installed. Remmeberthat Jetlines is the launch customer for the Edge on all six of their planes so it seems likely. I have asked Flyht whether the Edge is or will be on by then but I may not get a response.

Why am I interested in this? Well currently, I believe, only three or four of their planes are active, so having all six flying will increase the amount of SaaS revenue. More importantly, however, is that a “prominent” European airline will get to see how they like the Edge and could, perhaps, become a customer. Some free marketing catered by Canada Jetlines.

I would be surprised if these wet leased planes don't have the Edge installed. If indeed they are sitting idle they certainly have the opportunately to do the installs. Hopefully Flyht has submitted the doc's to EASA for certification. Uber
