Questions

I'm still hovering around this one - particularly waiting for some significant insider buying (maybe they have been unable to purchase with earnings coming up and the recent announcement)

But my questions are:

Do I have the following correct as these were things I was told that originally got me interested in taking a look.

Covid affected them greatly obviously (no planes flying)   Is it true that a major competitior pulled out of this service rather than upgrade to 5G?

Is Flyght the only one with 5G capability? (they diecided during Covid to go to 5G?)

Have they now got sufficient certifications that they can load the plug and play units right on the planes?

My comment:   if the above are true - then I disagree with those complaining about the restructuring.   If that manpower was needed to get to this point - but now they are good to go - why would cutting workforce that is not needed be a negative?

Thanks

Moneyguy, am down serious bucks, and still buying because I ask the same questions as you. Yes to covid and major U.S. competitor leaving. Possibly CF105 or another can give more definitive answers to your other questions, however, as I understand it, no competition in 5G ( appreciate help here ), and certifications coming through, still waiting on some. The potential is there........anything can ...more

The major competitor is Teledyne. One of the reasons that the Edge should do very well is the fact that they decided not to implement 5G themselves. In fact they may have requested that Flyht add this development to the Edge+ product, since some of their sales force now work for Flyht. According to the latest Flyht presentation, there are currently around 25,000 airplanes and Teledyne has WQAR ...more

Is Edge+ a swapable unit for the Teledyne Groundlink unit with no modifications needed? I can't imagine Teledyne giving up on the 15,000 units they have installed already. Seems it would not be large chore to just upgrade their current box and installation for 5G. There are other 5G QAR's out there already as well. Everyone in the QAR market is headed that way. Examples:  FDT is a ...more

"Is Edge+ a swapable unit for the Teledyne Groundlink unit with no modifications needed?"    As I understand it, yes. That 4MCU size is key. The quick swap-out is contigent on the wiring from a previous WQAR being in place. FLYHT got the Airbus and Boeing STCs for the flange mount first. We are waiting on the STCs for the 4MCU Edge+.   IMO, it should have been ...more

The three fellows that came from Teledyne are a big asset, imo. They know what the Teledyne WQAR can do, what its limitations are, who their clients are, who their target market is and what the aviation industry wants.  Willie Cecil, director for business development, Aircraft Data Services, Teledyne Controls, 20 years' service, hired in June 2021, interviewed in 2018 while with ...more
