Anyone else here put two and two together... seems to me like the settlement of the lawsuit would most likely have been in the neighborhood of $100 MM. So, you can't be surprised with this move by JJ to try and get the whole company for about the same amount.
They would have to pay it either way, only this way they could get a company and it's assets out of the deal, if it were me I probably would have done the exact same thing, give it a shot anyway as nothing to lose and so much to gain.
As for management, well it's hard to believe they are going along with this to line their pockets after everything they went through to get to this point, is there a separate post deal on the table... were they offered positions to run the company/s after the deal is done?
In the meantime the numbers I get for the TSX are about 60MM shares traded hands since the offer, that can't be looking very promising for JJ. No real sellers means price will continue to rise imo.
