graphene aluminum ion super battery

From Elon Musk. Lithium ion battery cell takes 3 yo 6 hrs. chg time vs. 10 seconds for this GMG battery cell. Lithium life span aprox 10 to 15 yrs vs. 45 yrs for GMG. 2 to 3 years out. Graphene tech is very futuristic. Too bad I won't be around to experience all what it can do for the world. And what do you need for Graphene? Why Graphite of course. uTube is a great source of info on this subject. TGIF

Some people always think of filling up at a gas station compared to charging an ev at a charging station. What they forget is that most of the time you will just charge up while you are at home. Some will never use a charging station ever.  When you think about it it's easier than having to put fuel in your car.

So how much does it cost to install a chsrging outlet in your home. There are two types with one being faster and more expensive than the other. I don't have the cost at my finger tips but they are expensive. and then the price of electricity to charge your car at this stage of the technology is not cheap. In time these issues will be improved upon, but for now Im sticking to my nice ...more

EV chargers for home are only $400 to $1000. You can get them on eBay or Amazon or even Home Depot. Just google home ev charger and scroll.

So what happens if you have to upgrade your service entrance from 100 to 200 amps and then the other installation charges. And that cheap charger your talking about will take hours to charge your car adding to your light bill. Again don't get me wrong. I'm here for the long haul, probably long after a few posters get discouraged and move on. gl

The vast majority of homes have a 200A service.  If you have a 100A service you may need to update your service anyway.  Doing so is only a couple of $grand.  Besides the chargers are programmed to load share.  They wont charge your car at 6 when you are cooking dinner but they will ramp up when the lights are out and you are in bed. They also are controlled by your utility and ...more

Ontario sometimes has too much electricity generated and has to export it at a loss to other provinces and the United States. I live in Southwestern Ontario and in this area we have the most wind turbines in the country. Yesterday when driving on the 401 it was windy but almost all of the turbines were shut down. My guess is the grid already had more electricity than it t needed. I've heard ...more

The wind turbines have to be shut down when the wind reaches a certain velocity and it may be in the 35km range. Just when the windmill would really produce the rig has to be shut down so it wont self destruct.   As for nuclear they can be pulled off line almost instantly I was told.  I hope we get rid of wind and solar because at the end of the day they are useless.  Imagine ...more
