that was before South Africa and Botswana COVID19 third waves and before the social unrest in South Africa. Things can change rapidly. And the higher cost of oil is an important factor in driving mining costs higher. Combine that with a lower gold price and you have all ingredients for a worsening situation. .

and maybe they just learned that it will cost a lot more than expected to bring the Mexican mine into commercial production
