Floatovoltaics

Perhaps an idea for GRB somewhere in the future?

Floatovoltaics (solar panels on water) can help solve California's drought, require less or no cooling and have a higher efficiency in warm areas.

This is a great idea Sven.  I have always said the extensive water canals systems that run the desert lose a tremendous amount of their water to evaporation. There are systems out there that employ things like plastic balls and films but I don't see them used extensively except on retention ponds. Thanks, that's a brilliant suggestion and indeed a far greater revenue opportunity for those idle circling drones! However, I feel that it's also a more difficult business than the relatively simple solar panel cleaning business... With solar panel cleaning, efficiency can be easily measured before and after a clean.  With window cleaning, you'll have to find a solution ...more
