Hard to imagine

Venezuela having a free election as long as Maduro is still in power and A L I V E !

His regime have had a lot of time to put the system in place to get the obvious fix in.

Now after the auction Gold Reserve may elect to build with the proceeds another project with or wihout a partner.

They may even have one in mind and with the way they think it could be in Central ASSFRICA .

You have to remember that Maduro's authority is not absolute. My understanding is that there are various competing factions within the Venezuelan government. One very important one, of course, is the military. My guess is the military gave Maduro his wish that Machado be disallowed but now they're telling him that Gonzalez is going to get a fair shot in the election. Indeed, he looks like ...more

Is it fairly well accepted that much of the Military's pay ???? is generated from corruption, illicite trade, drug forwarding, extortion and other regular boring South American hobbies. Maduro's regime has encouraged this in order to stay in the forefront of POWER. Hard for a new regime to pick up this activity and let it be while trying to run a country, if you can call it a country ...more

I concede those sound like good points. My only answer is that in 2015 or 2016 the opposition took control of the National Assembly, I have it on good authority, because the military required of Maduro that he allow a free and fair election to happen. Impossible to know what kind of dynamics are at play today. But I wouldn't rule out that some of those top generals actually care about the ...more

I believe it was the Venezuela military that was shooting people and running over them with armed trucks while all that was going on! Under who's orders were they ? Yes the mustachioed Generals thats's who.

There are legal ACTIONS against the leaders of Venezuelan armed forces so not too sure why they would want to invite in forces and influences that would could jeopardize their freedoms.
