Banana Republic ?

In a Banana state like Venezuela these are words without foundation as the election process at best is an utter joke.
So sell CITGO on the auction get the debtors paid as bets as the proceeds will allow and be done with it.

The debtors have waited long enough.

The opposition's best candidate is barred from running and the armed forces are running the biggest drug cartel in SA.
Change of government not likely, and if so, a coup in the following months will drive all back to lunacy !

"There are 100 reasons why this auction should not be in a hurry," said a person familiar with the sale process, noting the proximity of Venezuela's presidential election.

"There is the possibility of a new government coming along that will honor its obligations ... and it doesn't want this asset to be sold. The court could exhibit a little judiciousness, a little restraint, and see what happens," the person added.
