GWY News..

...First off, what is with these Friday releases?  They have been good results, but go against the conventional wisdom that Friday releases are bad.

Second, I've been with GWY now for quite a while.  Sometimes it has been horribly frustrating.  What keeps me around though is the sense that one of these days we will get a NR that will blow the doors off.  With California as our flagship property, Vetas has been seen as a bonus.  Now, Vetas is demanding attention on its own.

If GWY can demonstrate continuity with CB Gold, and expand Vetas, we could have a company with 5 million total oz.  It will be very interesting to see the resource estimates next year.

Yeah the Friday NR's are kind of odd but with the market swings lately it is a crap shoot any day of the week.  With Cali pretty much proven up (just need to state how many ounces in ground) and Vetas now proving up a substanial resource we could be a DOUBLE VEN!  What does that equal...... $26 a share?  I'd even take half that! :)

I also owned the stock almost 5 years ago when there was no gold, and sold it from the same reasons we are talking here.  It is like having a great hockey team with all stars that does not know how to win.I bought GWY again when they got involved in Colombia and still holding a decent position but must say I am disappointed that there is not a single serious buyer of the stock after all ...more

Only up .06 on good good news? Exactly even if they hit the same holes as ven the s.p would still lag then crash. Typical! Sell on hype and  short on news the gwy tactics from the m.m's . I stated before the s.p wont budge until resource estimate. The m.m's know it and this is why games are being played.

And on another note, oem hit 1.50 and back up to 2.20 same m.m's with that play too. I wouldnt be surprised if they got there fingers in the cake over at cbj also.

We have a right to be frustrated but the SP stagnancy could be due to the fact that GWY shares are very tightly held as evidenced by the fact that CBJ has traded over 7 million shares, and routinely traded over 5 million per day after their last press release. I am probably off, but I think about 2 million was our best. Being so tightly held it is tough to get momentum from the day traders. None ...more

Few things, I do not think the reason for SP to stagnate is that nobody is selling but rather nobody is bying and that is what worries me. Does GWY management share the same interest as GWY shareholders? And we did hit 12 millions in July when over 20 millions was traded in a week.

GWY's CEO, Hinchecliff, owns 2.3M shares.  So, I'd say, yes, GWY management do share the same interest as shareholders.  A $5 buyout would give him a whopping $11.5M and a $10 buyout would be worth $23M.  That is some pretty decent incentive.

One thing still concerns me, SP $5 ~ 500 mils , SP $10 ~ 1 billion,The difference is 500 millions savings for someone willing to buy GWY, just 10% of that money is twice much as $10 buyout.I do not know Mr. Hinchecliff but hope that current SP has nothing to do management even though I do not get all price swings with this stock.  Contrary any reasonable logic applicable ...more

Even a good hockey team full of stars are only as good as their leaders.
