The ask?

Maybe somebody will be able to explain this to me. Before the market opens, the ask is at 0.025. But the second the market opens, the ask moves up to 0.03. Its not just today that this happened. It's all the time, including when there is no volume. Is anybody able to explain how this works to me? I'm pretty new at this.

Go to stockwatch and go to TSX. TSX has really no volume and the other platforms have tones?? And you think if you look at the TSX, WHICH IS THE MAIN EXCHANGE WOULD HAVE EVERY TRADE?????.
