33 Trillion in US debt
I asked ChatGPT how long it would take the US government to pay back 33 Trillion of its debt.
This is the answer:
According to a report by
Business Insider
, the US government has a debt of over
33 trillion dollars
1
2
.
The interest rate on this debt is currently
5%
1
.
To calculate the time it would take to pay back this debt, we need to know the amount of money that the US government can allocate towards paying off the debt.
Assuming that the US government can allocate
$1 billion
per day towards paying off the debt, it would take approximately
90,411 years
to pay off the entire debt
2
.
Please note that this is a rough estimate and does not take into account factors such as inflation, changes in interest rates, and other economic factors that could impact the repayment of the debt.
