I'm curious too. This idea makes sense but not sure how effective it can be. I've done some reading and it doesn't seem to matter if you set a limit. If anything it gives your prospective price target away to the broker. Then they know your out position. If you know when someone intends to sell, you can play with those shares all the way to that sell point. So I dunno. Just want this ...more

It really depends on if enough do this at the same time.. if the only shares remaining are a much higher ask and a good news release pops.. simple supply, demand and open market scarcity will kick it.. combined with margin calls on short sellers.. forcing them to buy back at whatever the market is currently dictating (i.e. high ask price). yea also if it works it's an easy fix to limit the short pool and if you're ask is set high enough then if it doesn't work it doesn't affect your account anyway so why not
