One Possible HPQ Future

I wrote a piece that touched on this some time back when the SP was much higher but when things are down like they are now maybe its time to re-visit one possible scenario for the HPQ SP and shareholders moving forward. There are many assumptions built into this scenario but I think it follows HPQ's business plan both published and not. Although it may be difficult to think of HPQ as a multi-billion or maybe trillion dollar company when we're sitting around 60 cents, consider this possible future for HPQ;

Bernard speaks of HPQ being a R&D company more than a company which will see any meaningful production. He forsees that buyouts will happen once proof of technology can be illustrated. With that in mind one possible scenario is that our wholly-owned division called HPQ Nano will soon, if all goes according to plan, prove its environmentally clean and low cost technology and the scalability of that technology for the production of nano silicon particles for the battery industry. If that happens the SP of V. HPQ will soar as a bidding war for HPQ Nano by large car manufacturers and battery makers ensues. Our division, HPQ Nano is sold to the highest bidder for $X all of which is distributed to shareholders of record on a certain date. Shareholders jump for joy.

Then, without the technology of HPQ Nano as part of our holdings and the technology of HPQ Polvere not quite ready yet the SP of V.HPQ drops. There is a sell-off of sorts. Smart shareholders possibly sell too and try to ride the ups and downs to maximize profit by buying back in before HPQ Polvere starts to ramp up.

Then, our other division, HPQ Polvere follows in the footseps of HPQ Nano by proving the technology and associated scalabilty of its environmentally-friendly and low cost technology around the production of fumed silica. The industry jumps at an opportunity to buy the technology of HPQ Polvere to realize reduced costs and to adhere to the need to be environmentally-friendly and another bidding war ensues. The SP of V.HPQ rises out of the dust left behind by the sale of HPQ Nano and HPQ Polvere is sold to the highest bidder for $X all of which is distributed to V.HPQ shareholders of record on a certain date. HPQ sharehiolders again rejoice and dance in the streets.

Upon the sale of HPQ Polvere, the V. HPQ SP takes another hit due to the sell-off of the remaining fumed silica technology that was the main component of the value of V.HPQ and made its SP soar. Smart shareholders sell after the date of record and get whatever they can for their shares at the time.

In this scenario, shareholders could possibly be paid out twice in a significant way for sales of the two divisions and bought low twice and sold high twice.

I think that the trigger event for each impending sale of a division in this scenario is the exercizing of rights by PYR to realize 50% owership in HPQ Nano firstly and HPQ Polvere secondly. PYR will want to get in on the gravy train too.

Again, lots of assumptions but in my mind things could possibly fall into place like this for HPQ shareholders and if so, anyone who sticks around to watch it happen will be very well off in my opinion.

As always, comments are welcome. That's what this board is supposed to be about.

Sometimes I have to post . Well if you do your DD and they're telling the truth and I believe they are. Well then a hundred thousand shares would be sweet in a tsfa 2 or 3 years out. Amazing promise. Kooo

With reference to my original post I should have said in the scenario outlined within it we are currently in the first "buy low" period IMO so if you believe that things could play out as theorized now is a good time to load up.  I used to think that the deals which PYR and HPQ have to allow PYR to exercize a 50% ownership in both HPQ Nano and now HPQ Polvere were bad deals for HPQ ...more
