Once silicon battery become mainstream

Because of the smaller size battery EV can hold multiple batteries. With multiple batteries we can drive 1000 km in single charge or more. I doubted any gasoline engine drive that far without reloading. This alone will increase extreme demand for EV car.

You may have stumbled upon the reason why the F-150 is the largest selling vehicle in North America. A significant percentage of pickups have a fuel tank in excess of 120 litres giving a highway range of over 1000 km..

i have yet to see an EV perform like they are promised to. as soon as the temperature drops below zero they are absolute trash... another zinzin delusion

So you monitor EV's use in relation to temperature? You say that you have yet to see them perform as promised.  How many Silicon anode based batteries have you "seen" on the road? Doubt you've seen any batteries containing Silicon....right? Would have to be Graphite based. So you wouldn't really know how Silicon performs in the cold. I hope you just aren't ...more

120 litres fuel will be large no doubt. What I am saying silicon battery size will be much smaller than current graphite battery. A silicon battery size is way smaller than graphite battery size with much better energy density. A single silicon battery may take you double the distance than graphite one. Because of the smaller size EV can have room for multiple silicon battery. I am saying distance ...more

But, you put 120 litres of fuel and the cost for gas will be a whole lot lower than the power used to charge your battery and u can fill up in 10 minutes let me know how long u have to sit to charge up your battery, and also the emissions from the power station to charge your EV will be more than the F-150 also.and the cost of an EV is way higher than buying an F-150.

When you leave your house for city driving , you car should be on Full , highway driving is the issue, Hybrid/ice should have been before Full EV , Full EV isnt perfect ,, Hybrid/ice would curb emissions greatly as well, imo Full EV is just another step towards Hydrogen/EVs or just Full Hydrogen,, cheers!

They (car makers) have inventory I am sure they need and want to move before they unveil 1200 K + range vehicles when they are ready for prime time. There are lots of practical savings and uses in the right environment for short range. Myself I am waiting for 1200 + and sub 10 min charge and I am sure they will get there ! I agree with much of what you say have a hybrid great milage loose about 80 ...more

Well Amprious is stating their Silicon battery will charge in 6 minutes.  Makes your 10 min to fuel your gas powered truck kinda slow.
Comment by silverbed79 on Dec 08, 2023 4:04pm
YAY 6 minutes but that is after sitting in a line for 2 hrs to get to the charging station I seen first hand the line up in Hope a while back and people were not happy
Comment by Alothian on Dec 08, 2023 4:36pm
its still early in the process... in years to come there will be more stations, it will look the same as current day with gas pumps. eventually EV's will be sweet but right now we arent there.
Comment by Uncleron on Dec 08, 2023 4:37pm
You better pray the guy charging first doesn't catch fire... or you encounter a mudslide / avalanche and you get stuck out in the toolies...better to keep your EV in and around the city where they belong...uncleron is always right  !..cheers ....News this week  ??..
