If these are indeed the ones he exercised, why would he put up such cash so early when the price is guaranteed for about 3.5 more years?  Several possible reasons I can think of - puts the money into the company coffers; trying to send a signal; getting into a position where he can sell to pick up potential gains earlier.

Think of it this way. When he exercised those options for a million shares he did it for all the right reasons. Unless you think he's stupid. No I'm not believing that. That would make me stupid. The only problem I have with it is that it seems too easy.Imho Koooo

Yes, Kooo, I am pretty sure he did it for all the right reasons....for himself.  What you still don't understand is that the right reasons for him may not ultimately result in the best outcome for you. I am not going to wrap my mind around Ivan's perspective because I can't recall ever seeing other insiders do such a thing.  And I can't believe that none of them knew of
