Second Generation of Advanced Silicon-Based Anode Material Continues Delivering Strong Performance

In today's press release, HPQ shares the latest developments from its France-based affiliate, Novacium SAS. Recent 50-cycle tests of 18650 industrial batteries using Novacium’s non-optimized second-generation (GEN2) advanced silicon-based anode material have yielded impressive results.

Testing results reveal significant improvements with GEN2 material

 

The batteries showed approximately a 30% improvement compared to the graphite benchmark and about a 14% improvement compared to those made with Novacium GEN1 materials. The results also demonstrated a minimal increase (about 1%) in measurable cycle degradation.
