Strength Through Partnership

"This MOU represents a significant milestone in our journey to transform silicon-based anode material production," said Bernard Tourillon, CEO of HPQ Silicon Inc. "By combining our advanced technologies with the expertise and infrastructure of our German partner, we are reducing risks and accelerating the path to commercial-scale manufacturing."

The Northern Germany partner brings over 50 years of industrial and chemical manufacturing expertise, along with a fully authorized industrial site, creating an ideal environment for this project.

Bold Step Forward for Silicon-Based Battery Materials

The facility, to be established at an industrial park in Northern Germany, will integrate HPQ’s innovative technologies with the industrial partner's extensive manufacturing expertise.

The collaboration aims to design, build, and operate a state-of-the-art production site for advanced silicon anode materials while exploring the deployment of HPQ’s proprietary PUREVAP™ QRR technology. This technology has the potential to produce high-purity silicon and capture carbon off-gas for the creation of green synthetic fuels.

Driving Innovation, Meeting Demand

Europe’s battery revolution calls for innovative solutions. With this MOU, HPQ is poised to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of energy storage materials. Together with its German partner, HPQ is advancing the shift toward a greener, more sustainable future.

The German Company, headquartered in Northern Germany, has a rich history of industrial and chemical production dating back to the seventies. The company operates a chemical/industrial site (a lot of open space – all authorized as industrial zone) which is an ideal location for advanced manufacturing projects. Projects such as our advanced silicon-based anode materials for batteries, the PUREVAP ...more

To not muddle things, this MOU is solely about silicon-anode materials, and not fumed silica.

True, but it is mentioned. I found it curious and wanted to quote it regardless!

Sure, and Agoracom will jump on that and every other word they want to make something out of it.  The thing has been answered many times before.  Evonik is the key dancing partner for fumed silica but HPQ has nott crafted an exclusive, binding agreement.  Currently it is an LOI.  So, BT will again say that they have various interested parties for different things within each ...more

It's too bad that this technology isn't going to be expanded in Canada.

Man you are such a wet blanket...You are right we haven't crossed the finish line YET..but we are winning the race...Have a get day EH!

It is an MOU to explore the design and potentially a manufacturing facility for silcon-based anode materials. For this northern Germany company, this is business opportunity to build and operate a plant.  But it is not a tangible contract until such a contract is signed. What this plant is going to look like depends on the product and quantities of silicon-based anode materials they expect ...more

Hello Ivan , I hope you and your family are well. Does HzpQ trade on a European exchange  ? I do hope we get some more European investors jumping on board.

Thanks Oden, all is good! Hope you as well? Hpq is traded on the Frankfurt stock exchange in Germany: https://www.boerse-frankfurt.de/equity/hpq-silicon-inc As you can see via the link below, interest in HPQ in Europe has been on the rise for a while: Germany, France, Belgium, Switzerland, etc. https://trends.google.com/trends/explore?q=%2Fg%2F11c6qsv8c4 Take care

Near the end of today's Agoracom interview Bernard talks about Fumed Silica reactors.  He said that he always believed the first one would be built in Canada.  However with today's news they have a location alread to go and with the required permits and licenses.  So IMHO you were spot on accurate in your sumassion of wording in NR If he builds in Germany first both QRR and ...more

Yes, Agoracom forgot to ask that question and BT prompted that discussion. Basically the location with this company is permitted for that kind of application as well, and I would imagine other type of industrial applications. Location was the key to this interview, but he made it sound like finding a location in Canada is no big deal. This is an MOU to study a project in more detail. Basically ...more

The mention of a chemical company in northern Germany made me think of Hamburg in the first place: - It has a port: the third largest in Europe. - Because of the port, it is also a major industrial city. - Has a lot of industrial infrastructure with green energy production capacity - It is a green city with an emphasis on renewable energy: hydro power plants, wind turbines, solar energy, etc ...more

Surprised that they didn't mention it was Evonik who they already have a relationship with. At CIBF 2023, Evonik, one of the world’s leading specialty chemical companies, will present a broad range of chemicals and high-performance materials for electric vehicle batteries.

Good luck guessing but makes no difference.
