What results could we expect from BRAZIL?
I noticed in my last post where I referred to Vaaldiam Resources Ltd…. It should be noted they’re on the big board T.VAA not the Venture Exchange…
I also found some time tonight and looked back to see what kind of work was done in the past and what results one might expect in the pipeline moving forward or short term. One thing for sure the secrecy goes back almost from the get go… Plus I suspect that more work has been completed in secret, not disclosed, and maybe luck might have it this maybe part and parcel….
The other important factor from the recent agreement was the obligation to spend 2 million US$ over the next 2 years… so we should see an announcement on a planned and calculated work program announced….

ICIENA STARTS DRILL PROGRAM ON JATOBA KIMBERLITE CLUSTER IN MATO
GROSSO – BRAZIL
May 24, 2005 – Iciena Ventures Inc. (the “Company”) has resumed an exploration drilling program on its Paranatinga diamond project located in north-central Mato Grosso, Brazil. Drilling is scheduled to start on May 28, 2005, with the first holes designed to exploit targets generated from a new ground geophysical survey completed over the Jatoba kimberlite cluster (JKC). Both ground electromagnetic and magnetic surveys have further defined the boundaries of kimberlite pipes discovered in the 2004 drilling program. Additionally, non-magnetic EM conductor targets have been identified within the Jatoba cluster. Initial drilling will test these EM conductor targets and then continue with the drill testing of the more than 100 targets generated from a high-resolution airborne magnetic gradiometer survey completed in October, 2003. Additional ground EM and magnetic surveys will be completed as needed.
In late 2003 and early 2004 eight drill holes were completed in a 60-hole, 6,000-metre drill program on its 200,000-hectare Paranatinga property. Four of the eight holes drilled intersected kimberlitic rock, which defines the newly discovered Jatoba kimberlite cluster. The kimberlitic drill intersections (drill holes 1, 2, 5 and 7) lie under an average of 65 metres of unconsolidated postmineral sand cover. The kimberlitic bodies are truncated on an ancient buried erosional surface known as an unconformity. The primary kimberlitic bodies are overlaid by secondary lateritic kimberlitic deposits, of which both the primary and secondary deposits contain ilmenite, garnet, chrome diopside and rare chrome spinal.
The technical analysis of the mineral chemistry for ilmenite and garnet grains from drill holes 1 and 2 was completed at the University of Brasilia by a team led by Dr. Jose Carlos Gaspar. Eleven hundred mineral grains were microprobed with Dr. Gaspar recommending microdiamond analysis. Dr. Gaspar is a world renowned kimberlite expert who has completed substantial work programs for diamond explorers such as Rio Tinto, Santa Elina and Brazilian Diamonds Ltd.
Drill cuttings from the 2004 kimberlitic intersections are now awaiting analysis for diamonds.
Negotiations with qualified labs, both in Brazil and in Canada, are in progress. It is expected that these negotiations will be completed shortly.

ICIENA TO ACQUIRE STRATEGIC KIMBERLITE FIELD IN BRAZIL
January 26, 2005 – Iciena Ventures Inc. has reached an agreement with International Resources Ltd. To acquire all of the issued shares of Minera Sucunderi Ltda. The Brazilian private company owns an undivided, 100-per-cent interest in certain mineral concessions, totalling approximately 260,000 acres that are located in the Paranatinga kimberlite district of Brazil (the Jatoba project). Under the terms of the agreement, Iciena will issue 2.5 million shares, and make cash payment of $325,000 (U.S.), to International Resources Ltd. The Jatoba project area is contiguous with the company's current joint venture with Consolidated AGX Resource Corp., a mineral exploration project operated by Dr. Charles Fipke. Share issuances and cash payments are subject to TSX Venture Exchange and regulatory approval.
The company will pay a finder's fee, in cash and shares, in connection with this transaction.
Minera Sucunduri has conducted an exploration program over the past 1-1/2 years that included ground sampling, airborne and ground magnetic surveys, and drill testing of eight magnetic targets under Tertiary-age sand cover. The four of eight completed drill holes intersected a total of 216 metres of kimberlite. Samples from drill holes 1 and 2 were submitted to the University of Brasilia for microprobe analysis, under the direction of Dr. Jose Carlos Gaspar, a world-renowned kimberlite expert. Dr. Gaspar confirmed the existence of kimberlite with garnets, ilmenite, spinel and chrome diopside and recommended that the kimberlite drill intersections be tested for diamonds. The company plans to have the kimberlite drill samples tested for diamonds upon exchange approval. Sixty additional kimberlite targets have yet to be drilled and Iciena expects to initiate an aggressive drill program in 2005.

ICIENA PROCEEDING WITH MATO GROSSO DIAMOND PROJECT IN BRAZIL
October 7, 2002 – Further to its news release dated July 3, 2002, Iciena is pleased to announce that it advanced funds in trust to Consolidated AGX Resources Corp. necessary to earn a 20% undivided interest, in the Mato Grosso Diamond Project, subject to TSX Venture Exchange acceptance for filing.
The 63,000-hectare claim block is known to host at least 40 kimberlite pipes. Dr. Charles Fipke’s C.F. Mineral Research Ltd., operator of the claims, has been conducting large-scale exploration programs at Mato Grosso. Results from the C.F. Mineral Research laboratory are pending.

They’re maybe more but just wanted to point out there is much work that was reported but very little RESULTS if at all made PUBLIC….
