Haywood resumes buying

That suggests that we are due for our first post=summer update.....

Post-summer update?Well I surely hope this update, whenever it be, includes plans to build a commercial biorefinery so that Lignol can compete in the marketplace. They've been testing their application using their lignin for the OSB market since April.  Is this enough to ensure the building of a biorefinery, or will they have to test their other applications as well, including any of the ...more

It is worth noting that , earlier in the summer,  production trials of the new foundry resin  with HA International met or exceeded customer requirements for performance and reduced smoke and odor at pouring. The new resin formulation displaces certain petrochemicals normally found in resins by using Lignol's HP-L(TM), a renewable chemical made from biomass. It was reported at ...more

Sometimes it's not about patience TheRock.LEC is not the only supplier out there, and that includes non-petroleum based foundry resins made from cellulosic feedstock.Timing is everything, and since LEC is not the first to market, I just hope they have a superior product, or at least competitive in some way.  The market is large, but time is an important factor as well, IMO.  atb  ...more

Time isn't the issue it was a year ago. The whole green energy sector is down. It didn't fall as fast as the general markets but it continues to fall. It's hard to be positive with Obama caving into lobbyists on every front and Harper being a lobbyist himself for Canadian oil companies. If you owned a pulp or plywood mill would you be planning the next green upgrade now or conserving ...more

"If you owned a pulp or plywood mill would you be planning the next green upgrade now or conserving cash and just doing minor research while the recession runs its course?"Well, after reading the plans that PLET (Pure Lignin Environmental Technologies) put out, they're planning to start construction of their retrofitted 2nd generation bio-refinery this Fall. They are taking over a ...more

New to LEC but you guys keep talking about PLET. Why can't I find a listing for this company anywhere on the markets? I found there website but hows a guy suposed to do any DD with no real information.....

There is very little you can find on competition unless you really dig. Try and google high quality lignin (producers) and you can start your dd there. You'll find that there has been quite the advancement in technology in producing chemicals from biomass which can and should hopefully replace petroleum based resins etc. What my point has been with regards to Lignol, is that they aren't ...more

PLET is a privately held company. They don't have to reveal anything to the public.

Well good for PLET, they found a dance partner in Biofuels America Inc. But let me shed some light on PLET, I have met the O'Flynns, they are a, shall we say, a gregarious couple. Yes I beleive they are married couple. I ran into them at a Council Of Forest Industries conference in Kelowna about 6-7 years ago. They were working the ice breaker cocktail party chatting up anybody who would listen ...more

interesting, if it's true. Not that I doubt you, but I will have to look into it a bit more. Thanks for your post. Long LEC.GLTA

You worry too much about the current. The future belongs to Lignol and its niche.PLET is not a real competitor.Refocus why you are an investor here.Check out the bluechips who are Lignol's partners.

birchjunk you once stated the following, "Lignol stands alone as a leader in its value added approach to lignin biorefining.  It will not have a problem getting a JV partner."I wish that were true, but that is furthest from the truth.Lignol is developing a competitive technology of extracting lignin, cellulose and ethanol from non-foodstock biomass. It definitely isn't a stand ...more
