Seismic due out any day. And don't forget Soros owns almost 15% of this low float stock. And we know that low flow stocks rise as fast as they fall. LFD was $.80 just last year

Hello maysteeeler, if the seismic shows up to 5 new exploration targets and new appraisal prospects in the old field, as we think, I hope Longford makes an update of the petroleum in place resource assessment made in september 2009. That assessment only covers the old Chia Surkh field. A new resource assessment could be a nice trigger. September 2009 Gross Petroleum in place 662 Million barrels  ...more

I've always made money by following the Big Boys like Soros. He wouldn't of put money into this play, unless he sees huge upside. Patience will be greatly rewarded. And your right. There's more oil here than reported. But the key phrase to focus on is PROVEN. The oil is already there, and the market is totally missing it. This won't last for long.

Thats what struck me too maysteeler, Longford has the same exploration upside as all the others small Iraq-players AND the proven reserves in the old field just waiting for new appraisal wells to unlock and the old field has probably some kind of excising infrastructure or roads to be used for transport of oil and material. Soros Fund Management has the second largest number of shares in PMI.V (Petromanas Energy Inc.) 79,500,00 or 12.86% of the fund as of June 30 2010. ShaMaran (SNM.V) is the largest owner of Petromanas Energy (PMI) with 200,000,000 shares.

This seems to be the Soros fund that everyone is referring to and it is a Canadian stock fund.  Longford Energy and Petromanas Energy are in with some very good company as many of the holdings are excellent, stellar Canadian stocks. You will see both of their names and their holdings listed below.

PTA was up over 30% today because of the following article which makes a statement about the niche of the market that caters to underleveraged juniors. The thing is one has to be in position with these things to reap the full benefit of price increases such as this. It takes patience and often a period of time which with these small juniors may be 3-5 years. Hopefully though it will happen quicker ...more
