More on Well 9

The following information should be able to address the questions raised by Good40 regarding well 9. This is a sedar document and the key information are stated as follows:

Well No. 9 was drilled close to Well No. 7 in 1938 and was deepened to 3,870 meters subsea in 1952. This is the deepest well drilled on the structure and is the base for stratigraphic correlation with the other fields in the
area. This well also confirmed as oil bearing the Jerebi Formation, and it encountered gas in the Upper Cretaceous Shiranish Formation. Well No. 9 found that the Jadalla and Aalija Formations are composed of marly limestone and marl, respectively. The well confirmed the presence of a significantly overpressured gas reservoir in the Lower
Jadalla and Upper Cretaceous Shiranish Formations, but due to technical problems, no meaningful test was completed.

For more details, go to Pages 6 to 8 of this sedar filing:

Good40

So this answers your question. We have oil at shallower Jeribe and gas at deeper lower Jadalla and Upper Cretaceous Shiranish formations. These are not all water as you stated. I hope this addresses your questions!

EOIM,Thanks for sharing the information.  I believe there is significant potential with lfd, but this is not a sure thing as some claim.  There are definite risks associated like anything else and those who claim this is risk free are not fooling anyone.  Again, good work and thanks for sharing with the rest of us.

EOIM... thanks for the info on 9 but which formation mentioned was below 1750 meters ?  It clearly shows everythingbelow 1750 meters on their presentation... is water.Sorry if I missed it,  but your description didn't say anything about below this level.

Good40,I called the company to obtain answers and they will be updating that slide. That slide is not presenting the information correctly. The slide showing the strata at various depth contain more information as to the specific reservoir types in the field.  The deeper formations contains high pressured gas that was not flow-tested due to technical problems.

First off,  who told you that the presentation is showing false information ?  The young girl at the front desk... or one of the engineers ?  If it is true,  then they should remove the presentation,  don't you think ?  No offense EOIM,  but you are promoting information that the company presentation shows as false. In any case,  which information is ...more

See slide 12 in https://www.longfordenergyinc.com/files/file/Longford%20October%202010.pdf It provides detail description of the lithology, rock unit, thickness and the reservoir type (oil, gas) as you drill from the Tertiary to Cretaceous and deeper into the Jurrasic and Trassic. This is a more reliable information.

Funny. The Vast presentation showed oil as being found which the offical announcement stated was hydrocarbons. Goofy ignored the Vast presentation as it went against the bashing message he was trying to put out.The water below 1750m doesn't go all the way to China (or whatever country they use to indicate the far side of the world). There are other formations below the water that will be ...more
