Longford Energy Inc. (TSX VENTURE: LFD) ("Longford Energy" or the "Company") notes the speculation with regard to a possible transaction with Genel Energy PLC ("Genel") in relation to the potential sale by Longford of its interest in the Chia Surkh block in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Longford confirms that there is increasing interest in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and that it is pursuing negotiations with Genel, however there is no certainty that these negotiations will result in a transaction. The Company will update the market if there are any material developments in negotiations.

they best hope that "these negotiations result in a transaction" cause they must surely be out of money, time, and most everything else an oil exploration venture can be out of.
