Drilling Expectation?

Hi LME Longs,

I hope everyone had a fantastic New Year. I have an inquiry; assuming that the team does not announce a sale in short term, but instead announces a new drilling program (to increase the value): do we know if previous years drilling announcements (I believe they always happen around January) increase or decrease the SP? Or does it stay relatively flat?
I guess this can be look at 2 ways:
  1. People hoping for a sale in the short term could sell their shares in disappointment, therefore decreasing the SP.
  2. The perceived value will increase with the expectation of further results, therefore increasing the SP.

Happy New Year everyone as well just to add to Smitty question ..... At what point will they focus more on making a deal with some suitors instead of keeping on drilling to try to increase the value.  Eventually these must come a time where either someone wants to buy the property or not?

I would suggerst that such point was reached many months ago.
