Bigger Picture

Has anyone given any thought that they could be a piece to a larger consolidation and aquisition puzzle. The diligence on a deal like that is enormous, the LME Team might be evaluating other companies to merge and consolidate with as a larger entity to immediatley jump from an junior/intermediate miner into a major.  Assuming the aquirier is Private Equity.

In my previous career, this was a strategy, acquire several smaller companies, consolidate them, pick the best MGMT Team, pump it full of equity to grow, flip it to a major. Aquiring LME from a Major's perspective will barely move the needle on their SP. Aquiring something like the above will be seen as strategic and be accretive for shareholders.

I hope this is a consideration. Not sure if something like this would happen with an all cash deal - which they seem to be pretty ridgid on.  Hoping they haven't turned down attrative offers just because it's not all cash.
