What's the deal

Seems to me like we’re down to 3 options here:

  1. Buyout by a major in the short-term for a “low” sale price ($2-$4/share). Then they do all of the drilling and prove the value for an MRE.

  1. Cash injection from a VC/PE in the short-term. LME does all of the drilling and proves the value for an MRE resulting in a much higher sale price ($8-$12/share).

  1. We sit on our hands and wait for all of these small drill campaigns LME is doing to accumulate to an eventual MRE over the next 5-10 years while the price plateaus and we hope for an eventual sale.

In all seriousness, does anyone have any educated guesses on when the chances of #1 or #2 may happen??

Nother question. Ppl say lme is brownfield and ashineg said Gbr was a greenfield. Why lme is brownfield? What do they have the gbr doesnt? Gbr had way more holes. Seems like lme is boasting about something its not? What is brownfield? What is greenfield?
Comment by Nuggetz on Feb 28, 2024 11:16am
GBR had never been explored before - Greenfield (will be underground mine) LME has been explored before - Brownfield  (will be open pit mine)
Comment by HectorgoldAU on Feb 28, 2024 11:20am
Gbr undergound - ok... so they needed more holes drilled to show its worth it. lme - explored, less holes drilled but hopen pit can it be valued in the same price zone with the exploration thats done? Seems like lme doesnt need the 100,000m drill program to maybe be worth 10?
Comment by JoJoHairBlo on Feb 28, 2024 12:02pm
LME is more than likely bigger area than GBR.  57 sq. km's.  So becasue they are open-pit, they def won't have to dig as deep, but maybe have to end up digging more holes because of the larger area.

Correction:  I just had a look at a map of the total area that Kinross has a claim to.  It is irregularily shaped, but it looks roughly like 15km x 8km.  Not sure how much of it they concentrated most of the drilling on though

Dawg how are you just going to hijack my thread hahaha! Start a different one if it's a completely different topic

Was Working up to tying it in. Read last comment. Option 1/2/3 value price tied directly to what place we are today. If we are brownfield with enough resource proof for $10 we dont need to drill more or have cash injection.

These are both great questions for Doug
Comment by HectorgoldAU on Feb 28, 2024 1:40pm
Not that hell answer them. Am i the onlyone who thinks its weird he hasnt posted in 4-5 day? Lots of catching up to do and lots of questions... not like were goini to get any real ansswer anyway. Guess quiet is almost better than some political answer about never being more confident in the company.

Which ones are the great questions? The definitions of Brown Field and Green Field? Or the which option has the best chances of happening soon? Answer to first question would be What is google for, Alex? Answer to the second you won't get from Doug officially. But it's a Great time to own LME shares. And they are in negotiations! That is why they have a Special Committee!!!

Your whisperings and screams are ususally nothing. And they are usually in the same post where it's the Best of Times and the Worst of times. Undervalued and horribly managed. Your very first post was I'm extremely bullish and guarantee this one takes a nose dive. No matter what you will be able to tell us all how you foresaw what ever happens

Hey folks! I love the chatter about LME. Thank you for the questions like this. Sorry for the absence from the thread as I have been travelling the last few days. I'm trying to catch up but I noticed that LME is the number one thread on Stockhouse reaching over 32k posts. Congratulations to all of you for making LME the most active forum in the mining and metals sector. As for the question ...more

In all seriousness, $2-4 values Laurion at 500 million to 1 billion dollars. What have they produced that would remotely justify this? They have a 43-101 Technical Report that identifies it as "Property of Merit", with a range of potential mineralization that is the equivalent of trying to value a house that could be 1200 square feet or 5000 square feet.   Educated guess based on ...more

I want a deal done soon too!!  Badly!! and I am also not beyond trying to figure out all the possibilities for what is or could be happening. I think we should all put a LOT more weight on the things we are told through press releases and other official LME communications - simply because they have as officers of a public company, they have legal and regulatory requirements to tell the ...more

I agree. We should look at the press releases. Can you point to where it says or infers "buyout, or conversely where it precludes strategic investment? TORONTO, Aug. 24, 2023 /CNW/ - LAURION Mineral Exploration Inc. Nope.  It is entirely possible that they haven't written down their objective of selling the LME / Ishkoday for cash - but it's long been my understanding that that is exactly what they plan to do and will only accept.  Maybe Cynthia has said it? Presentation materials? Website? Other releases?  Not sure. And I'm not going to look   Specific details aside ...more
