Doug, Buyout/closing Question???

Hey Doug.

Once a deal is announced, how long is the closing period?

Is it like one week or something short?  Or more like 2-3 months.

Also, will it be American or Canadian?

Comment by Wmaver on Jul 28, 2024 8:02pm
Not Doug, but the last 4 deals closed in months not weeks.

The PR will go out, TSX will give its approval to move.forward.  info will be mailed out, there will be a shareholder meeting to vote.  Some more.random things will be done. Again months not weeks.

Oh also, for a vote to happen, the info has ro be mailed out at a minimum of 21 days before the vote is to happen!

Thanks Wmaver, So it could be a 30, 60 or 90 day type timeline.  I assume the timeline will be announced when the deal is.  so you know of any recent Canadian deals and their closing timelines?  have there been any announced deals that have fallen through in recent Canadian history?

I get lost in the weeds when I google. Was hoping one of you more knowledgeable posters could help me out. ...I just googled the Osinio deal. It was announced Feb 25th for $1.90 to a Chinese company.  It's now 5 months later, the deal isn't complete and the stock is currently trading at $1.30/share. (45% below the already announced sell price).   I must be missing something ...more

Just googled Osinio to.   To me looks like was 1.4 in Feb and has jumped 1.8 current.

I stand corrected, Google shows it at 1.80 which makes more sense.  Yahoo finance has it at 1.30. ...must be the American exchange. ...doesn't specifiy

Looks like Osinio,  should complete around Sep / Oct. So about 8 months. Although I hear Chinese gov can be hinder deals.  As they have already been through 3 different approvals. Let's hope we are not bought by a something based out of China!
