Couldn't agree more GB999. Canada post lost a billion $ over the last year and we're the problem, really? The last offer would cost tax payers another 2.7 billion so next year the loss will be a billion a quarter, won't last long at that rate.

Good evening All, Wasn't planning on commenting on the Canada Post strike, but after reading the posts I had a look at details of the strike, and I was shocked to read this: Some key issues that Canada Post and CUPW are stuck on include wages and how to staff a proposed expansion into weekend delivery. I can't believe they (both Canada Post and the Union) are looking at weekend service. ...more

This has been my exact thought for a while now. They could cut the workforce down considerably. Instead of delivering advertisement papers (because that seems to be almost everything that comes) everyday, cut it down to 2 deliveries a week. Hell, even 1 would be enough.
