Q1 results improved but still weak

Compared to the prior year the results are still weak. LSI is lucky the stock didn't tank on the results. It's being supported by the bought deal financers. The good news is that LSI looks like it is recovering operationally but the price upside in the short-term just isn't there because the company is trading at a way too high P/E multiple now. I sold my position a few days ago and forked it into NWX which has zero debt, $20 million in cash and is running at $15 million/year in net earnings. Trades at less than 3 times earnings. Huge upside.

Sour grapes never taste very good, do they Vic?  Thanks for coming back and trying to pump your craptacular stock.  Too bad you missed the run.

I like LSI long-term but it will take awhile for it to pay off debt and generate net after-tax earnings growth like it did 2 years ago. By the way, I bought LSI at 1.00 then. Sold at $4, then bought back in at $2.65 then sold now. It has limited upside from here. It's being hyped by the bought deal guys but fundamentally, the earnings don't justify a higher price. The stock I bought using ...more

NWX...always a reason a company trades so cheap....dilusion and dodgey management will do it every time... https://www.stockhouse.com/news/newswire/2014/05/09/moriarty-says-newport-exploration-(v-nwx)-is-%E2%80%98raping%E2%80%99-investors,-president-responds Why don't you come back when we are at $5.  The investors are watching revenues , earnings will come.  I think we saw the ...more

The buying won't last LSI doesn't report a mega increase in net earnings. Sorry but you are being a little optimistic. I'd rather put my money in a deal NWX where there is no debt, lots of cash and $15million a year in net earnings. No article badmouthing management will change the fundamentals of a stock. I'll invest in LSI once it comes back down which it will just like when it ...more

I guess we shall see. I think you are being way too pessimistic.  The article presented a lot of facts.  I would be wary of NWX management.  Investors should stay away from a stock with that type of dilution and option offerings.  Stick with LSI, the real deal.
Comment by ValueTraderVic on May 22, 2014 9:55pm
We'll see who is right. I'm betting that a stock (NWX) with zero debt, fully-diluted cash of $21.1 million and fully diluted net earnings of $15 million / 14 cents a year and growing has a better chance of going up 100% (from 60 cents to $1.20) in the next few months than a stock (LSI) with lots of debt and net earnings of less than $1 million a year (from $3.65 to $70 a share). Still a ...more

Vic you can wake tomorrow and NWX management offers more options and more stock.  You seem to like that risk. Those fully diluted net earnings can change on a dime.   Badger Daylighting was the same way.  They reach economies of scale and the earnings come.  They have to use debt to build trucks.   You think you know it all so chow.   You will be buying LSI at much ...more

the difference is that NWX has already generated the earnings while LSI has not. NWX is debt free and earning lots of money so it doesn't need financings like the one LSI just did today. You've just been diluted by another 10 million shares today. Still like the long-term potential of LSI (that's why I bought and sold it twice already) BUT right now, it's overvalued as price is ...more

NWX is not one of those investments.  Completely speculaltive. A shot in the dark with dodgy management.    Generating earnings is not the be all and end all otherwise there would be ton of Chinese companies doing much better than they are now.   LSI has a strong business, strong revenue, adding trucks, more $$ are being poured into the oil patch here in Canada....the future ...more

LOL. Any stock with $20 million in cash, zero debt and $15 million a year in earnings (after-tax) is not "speculative", it's proven. You are quite the comedian.
Comment by PAGODA5 on May 23, 2014 12:12am
It is under $1 and it has a history of questionable management.....a company is always cheap for a reason.
Comment by ValueTraderVic on May 23, 2014 1:25am
Management that delivers net earnings growth, zero debt and lots of cash in the kitty is not questionable. Results count, not talk. NWX has the results, LSI doesn't. You should be careful in public criticizing any management group because you may find yourself the subject of a defamation lawsuit. Two years ago, I was telling people the same thing about MCR at 50-60 cents. It's now over $5  ...more

Based on your investment acumen, you would not have bought Badger at this level either. We all know how that turned out.  Why risk missing the run?
