Big Ridge owns the Hope Brook gold deposit which has over 1 million good grade open pit ounces but no mill .

It would be a nice future production acquisition for Maritime ..

Big Ridge has a market cap of less than $11 million. The absence of production facilities tells you every thing you need to know as to why. Remnants of a Deep Water Port at Hope Brook makes it attractive to MAE with its Deep Water Port and Panamax ore carriers. Dundee likes to consolidate..

Acquiring 1.2 million ounces of Big Ridge saves Maritime millions in exploration and development costs and  means 100.000 ounces per year of gold production for Maritime for over a decade. The latent value of owning the only two gold mills in NL and NS is now starting to emerge..

Shawn Ryan is a famous prospector who has said that the Baie Verte Peninsula is the most prospective gold region in Canada . Ive mentioned him in several of my posts Re spinning out QWS to Maritime. He picked out those three concessions on the Baie Verte Peninsula for Gold Island which was just acquired by Big Ridge. By acquiring Big Ridge...my speculation..we get the services of Shawn too.
