Going to see my dermatologist April 1...

for my annual body scan. I've written on here before that I had early stage melanoma at age 40. My wife saw the cancerous mole on my back. If not for her, I wouldn't be typing this today. Its been 15 years now of annual exams (they started off every 6 months, but switched to annually after about 3 or 4 years). I've had two other moles excised from my back in those 15 years and both came back non-cancerous.

So, when i go see her April1, I will ask her:
1) Have you heard of siascopy?
2) If yes, what are your thoughts on it, and do you use it?

If she provides a positive response, I will be loading up on shares.

Will let you know what she says. (the appt was supposed to be March 4, but has been pushed back, so hopefully its a go April 1)

Hey @Dunworkin2, Do you live in the southern Ontario? I own a private medical clinic in Brampton Ontario and will be rolling out the SIAscope as an adjunct service for our business starting later this month hopefully. I will be happy to provide details if you or your family are interested in getting scanned. If anyone else has questions for me I will be happy to answer.

Thanks csutton10 for the offer, very nice of you. I live up in the Ottawa Valley so have my appointment at the Ottawa hospital cancer centre. I will keep you in mind if family members are looking as i do have a bunch living in K-W, Toronto, Cambridge. From an investor's perspective, one question that I have, which you may be able to shed some light on is "how does one determine which ...more

That is a good question. I too have lots of moles and my father actually died from skin cancer when he was only 53. He, like many, was mis-diagnosed by his family doctor. I do know that the service we will be rolling out at our clinic with the SIAscope on Dermsecure, and I am sure it is like this at the other clinics MedX is partnering with in Ontario, is that each skin scanning session will ...more

And therein lies the tricky part in identifying which moles to scan. My family doctor is doing appointments over the phone. I had poison ivy in the fall and sent in some photos along with having a phone call conversation. He prescribed something and all was good. Doing this with approach with moles would be very difficult. Will be interesting to see how doctors handle appointments post covid ...more

https://www.laviehealth.com/for-individuals/dermatology-screening/ MedX Technology is in Ottawa. Here are two clinics where you can get scanned. How does it work? You would set up for a skin cancer screening at the clinic. If you had any suspicious moles or lesions the trained staff would identify them and take an image as well as your patient information. You can have multiple images scanned that ...more

Thanks Insightful. I'll stick with my April 1 schedule with the dermatologist. Why? 1) Because its with a professional dermatologist, MD. 2) My Dermatologist does a 100% complete body scan, so full mole coverage head to toe. 3) If she sees a suspicious mole, its removed immediately. 3) Its free. Will let you know if she has heard of Siascopy and what she thinks come April 2.

So here is where MedX fills the GAP. 1) You have a professional Dermatologist. R) Every MedX consult is assessed by a professional Dermatologist. MedX's imaging capture provide more information than if the Dermatologist was infront of the patient. 2)  Your Dermatologist does a complete body scan. R) MedX's triaging can either do a complete body scan or if a particularly suspicious ...more

totally excited about the concept. Have heard alot over that last two years. It would be nice if this were a reality today. Urgency does not seem to be an issue for mdx

similar story with my wife. Hence why my patience is being taxed. I get it takes time, but the longer this drags people will die. I just would like to see some movement here at home one way or another. Not CRYING at all just would like to see some solid communication on progress.
