And no screening program. This screams that OHIP should be reimbursing or covering Siascopy costs. So much potential here.

Here is the MNC site showing how badly COVID has impacted skin cancer screening.You are absolutely correct that it should be an insured service. The problem is the other (phonetype) image capture devices do not allow a dermatologist to make a proper assessment (42%fail rate) so it is hard to insure this. MedX image assessment fail rate is less than 1% according to their presentation so the ...more

Where does $70 come from? A couple months back I was quoted 4 scans for $249, or $149 with a referral like mentioned by Mike. There was no single pricing for 1 mole. Has that changed? I hope so.

My understanding is as follows, if you have a referal from a GP to the Dermatlogist then that part of the program is covered by OHIP the inbetween bit is MedX. Each clinic has its own finacial model but I understand it is between $70.00 at the low-end and $125 at the top end depending on the economic demographics of the client base. High end spas you pay more, the pharmacy model you pay less. I ...more
