I disagree with your assertion. Initially FDA rushed through the process of granting Emergency Use with poor checks and balances in place, which allowed poor tests to get on the market that did not perform. Their assessment process is now extremely rigorous. Those test that now make it through the accreditation proceess will test for covid with reliability and accuracy. Yes and no, what the article say is that the FDA admits it allowed too many serology tests and that users were reading the data wrong an assuming it was testing for Covid infection whereas it was also seeing past infections and giving misleading data. Ergo the FDA are saying between the lines that they want more accurate tests that test for antibodies (and in my thinking it would follow that MIR ...more
