Monument Mining Ltd > 30 million WestGold Shares for Murchison

30 million WestGold Shares for Murchison

Current WestGold price is $1.35.

The question becomes would you rather have WestGold managing our future investment in Murchison or Monument .
For $40 million in WGX shares...about 30 million...my preference would be to accept such an offer.
It removes our future costs of development while WGX owns its own drilling and exploration equipement and is an established underground miner in Murchison .

We would get about 1 WGX share for every 12 or so MMY shares.

I would certainly accept this offer if all proceeds went directly to shareholders as our long awaited dividend.

How about you ?

It seems to me that WestGold has had a long time to make this move . I wonder if they haven`t approached MMY already and been rejected . This is their only very obvious target but MMY has called it their corner stone project . They have done little there now because they are spread too thin .They can do their own sampling there at little cost while waiting and have a good handle on where to ...more

I seem to remember Cathy mentioning to me in a phone call once, quite some time ago, that Westgold had not given them an attractive offer. She may also have said that they couldn't make a sufficiently attractive offer. These statements are ambiguous and my memory of the conversation is hazy, but I definitely came away with the understanding that an offer had been received or at least very ...more

There were two negotiations ongoing with WestGold in mid 2020. We....shareholders....were negotiating a deal in the range of $40 million , based on equity ratio of about 1 for 25 WGX when WGX was trading about $2.50.... Cathy intervened on that offer and would not accept it  unless a future gold streaming deal was added at which point WestGold withdrew their offer. If I recall correctly ...more

There is no doubt that WestGold is still interested in our Murchison assets, as they were in late 2020. However, Cathy is very difficult to deal with, although our efforts did get Tato onboard and the CEO to retire. As is now obvious, long distance co-ordination of an exploration program from Vancouver to Western Australia is not working out well. We still have not received assays for a small ...more

If Westgold really liked the properties...... they would be sniffing around, making a "starter" offer ...... maybe, it was the smell that turned them off????    ........     Richard

IF history shows us anything it is that MMY would never share the sale money with shareholders although there would be a performance bonus for management . That money will give us a big bank account . And in the modern investment world ( mining ) a big bank account means nothing to speculators . The additional cash can actually send the share price down .  Stock price appreciation through ...more

Wayne, I'm still here. Just nothing to post on. If I thought the Westgold stock would flow through to my acct I would take Nozz's deal. But, I don't see that happening. Management here would want a piece of my pie. If an offer was made, would that not constitute a news worthy event? I guess I can answer that on my own, yes, to any other company following the law. My thoughts are there ...more

Hi Tony , I might very well be thinking of GCM . Another company where shareholders take a back seat .  There I have became very tired of the never ending pocket lining and aquisitions by Sreafino . Can`t say I wasn`t warned about his behavior many times . He blew his lid at me over a simple question and now he hasn`t answered me in well over a year . I think we are better off with Cathy ...more
