Maybe someone will believe me now about MOA being undervalued. This whole transaction will value MAR easily to $4.00. How could they be so poorly recognized in the market? MOA is even more so undervalued. I hope MAR guys will at least now see this and put some of the New found $'s quickly into MOA to double up profits even further...C.G.

The MAR  takeover and concurrent  spin-out of its gold projects ( mainly the Valentine Lake project ) to Newco has profound consequences for MOA.The Valentine Lake gold discovery is the largest in Nfld, and its full dimensions have yet to be determined. The strike lenght is a remarkable 30 km of which less than 10 % has been drillled and sampledA new resource estimate is on track to be ...more

FRG is acquiring XAU for $280 million.XAU's primary asset is  its 49 % ownership of  the  LC gold discovery in Nevada FRG owns the other 51 %.LC has about 1.2 million oz in its 43-101 ( a substantial amount in Inferred )  , which means that FRG is paying about $450 per oz of gold in the ground.Goldcorp is buying AND for $3.6 billion , valuing its gold discovery above ...more

The Jan 2005 underground resource estimate was based on a 5 g/t Au minimum cut-off (when Au was US$425 per/oz) and a 3 m minimum mining width. Even with those estimation constraints, the 43-101 resource estimate was 443,000 oz at an average grade of 10.5 gms/ton. The new resource estimate will be affected by 3 factors..........the superb drill results that have been obtained since then , ...more

Rock, if you read the last couple of NR;s you will see that a lot of the new results are talking about the hanging wall numbers. I am thinking that the old #'s did not consider any of this tonnage and that this could also add substantially to your analysis...wonder you thoughts on this??/ C.G.

I  forgot to include the impact of  cut-off chnages on tonnage and grade......these are given below..Category Cut-off Tonnes Gold (g/t) grade (g/t) Indicated 1.0       23,011,100          3.32 Indicated 2.0       14,166,900         4.46 ...more

I have redone the 2005 43-101 precisely, and have included in this estimate the 2005 estimate which adjusted for  the impact of the "nugget " effect on model output. The nugget effect is due to anomalously high grades ( sometimes 3 oz/ton ) when the drill intersects nodules of high grade material. To reduce this effect on parameter estimates, a statistical technique called Winsorizng ...more

Nice bit of work. Cant see anything wrong either with the calculations or logic. Easiest way for the folks to understand these calculations is that everything below 5 gms /ton is in addition to the 359,000 above the 5 gm cut-of. If you look through the drill assays, it becomes immidiately obvious that the 5 gm cut-off excludes a huge amount of ore. For example, one of the best intercepts todate is ...more

Very nice analysis Rock. The Valentine Lake property has recently been compared to the Abitibiti type deposit areas in Ont and Que. Lots of 6MM OZ Plus deposits have been found/mined there and some are still showing up even today after all these years so your blue sky 5MM number is not one that should be discounted...C.Gert

The drill is still turning, samples are waiting to be tested and more results can be expected at any time. Just keeps adding to the current proven total. When I guessed that 2 million ounces was in reach this go round there was some general disbelief. After the number crunching done by The Rock (appreciate the time and effort and that you shared that information with the rest of us) we can now ...more

Just noticing the trade station data, esp re Anon who seems to be trying to cap the share price.Over the past month, TD has been the big buyer , with Anon buying and selling about 600,000 shares at about .77 either way.I suppose this could be the MM, but it would have to be an aggressive MM.Anyone know which house is MOA,s  MM ?
Comment by brianjames on Sep 09, 2010 1:41pm
Keep in mind that the SP and/or calculations done by theRock are for Valentine Lake only.  Let's not forget that MOA has already stated they'll have a drill program in place for Little River this fall that contains both Gold and Antimony.I never heard of antimony until just the other day......but I already like it.BJ

My interpretation is that TD or TD's friends i.e. anon are on both sides of the trade, the s/p will be run up and down through a range shaking out unwary investors, providing a suitable 30 day average price followed by a buy-out offer with a 40-50% premium (most likely MAR). If they can't get the share # from individuals they will arrange swaps with other houses in exchange for ...more

I have been looking over the Little River gold and antimony project and the more I look the more I am impressed that the potential here is quite large. If you examine the website maps showing the sampling results todate , you cannot be impressed by the strike length already defined by soil and trench sampling for Both antimony and gold. Its in the 13-14 km range and whats more impressive is the ...more

Great recent post Rock.....What just totally floors me on this is that people are selling at these prices???  Must be in the need for cash for whatever reason.  I certainly am holding for the long haul.BJ

Yes it is the Antimony that caught my attention....it's in high demand throughout almost every industrial country in the world and yet the supply is 90% controlled by the Chinese. Recent  news stories are generally about the rapidly increasing price due to China limiting the supply to stretch out their remaining reserve. As note before, in the whole of the EU, 100% of their supply has to ...more

Quite so for me as well, and I now have MOA in all of our Family's accounts.Beaverbrooks concentrate is 63 % yet Little River have RAW trench samples that are as high as 50 % antimony and others above 25 %.Gold may shine, but, in the real world  strategic rare metals such as antimony have an enduring story that is vergent upon the status of precious metals.
Comment by Cousin_Gert on Sep 09, 2010 4:23pm
Yes I saw that about BBrook concentrating what they mine to 60% or so. It is then shipped out of Halifax(think I read it goes there first) all the way back to China for refining. Pretty valuable stuff I would say. Put this story in the right hands, and MOA's Junior Resource status could be raised significantly ...C.G.
