US geological survey mentions MOA

I was looking for current info on antimony and came across this recent publication by the US Department of the Interior. The publication describes the discovery at Little River and the fact that Hunan Nonferrous is actively seeking acquisitions of this metal. They also state that antimony reserves in China are depleted. Quote:


Government officials in China’s Hunan Lengshuijiang City, known locally as the "World of Antimony," announced that the area was facing an apparently diminished outlook for its future antimony production. Officials stated that after more than 110 years of continuous mining, Lengshuijiang, which accounts for 60% of global antimony reserves, now has only 5 years of mining life left (Metal-Pages, 2010a).

What they didn't mention was the production from Beaver Brook mine. The antimony is loaded into bags, put on a truck and shipped by ferry and delivered to Sidney , Nova Scotia for shipment to China where its refined and turned into the latest electronic products. Before Beaver Brook went into private onwership they had a website with some sensative information. The last thing I read was ...more
