Phone call with Bruce

Sorry I haven't posted like Steve I am busy with work and to be honest just too frustrated to really want to post anything constructive.

Bruce did call me. It was a 7-8 min conversation. He agreed with everything I, we, had to say. He takes full responsibility and that is why he is in the office trying to hammer out as many deals as possible before the year is over. I explained to him he wouldn't need to be in the office if he had a proper management team in place and he agreed. He said you can't really compare Martello to Canopy because the cannabis industry was so explosive that a news release was justifiable on a daily basis but that's not the case here.

He couldn't get into specifics but he said they were working hard to prioritize growth and he admited that organic growth has been non-existent and that wasn't acceptable.

He said he had to go and appreciated me reaching out and hung up.

Oh fuk, so it’s even worse than we thought... this is completely unacceptable. That literally says it all... Proctor has got to go. Does it even matter at this point though
Comment by canyousayiii on Dec 15, 2020 10:23pm
MR, I think it is positive that he is reaching out in person knowing where the convo is going. It is also positive that he is not tampering the discussion with 63% year over year growth without acknowledgment that most of it was bought. His admission that the current trajectory is unacceptable is also candid amd bold. Now we have to trust that he and Matthews have set down some action plan and one ...more

I agree canyousayii. Bruce does not like to NOT make shareholders money. And I'd like to think he has a special connection with MTLO because he was its original CEO. So, the fact he is active and working hard to get sh!t done tells me 2021 will be a very good year.
Comment by steevee84 on Dec 16, 2020 9:49am
I really hope you're right Patience

In today`s Globe & Mail, the Canadian Olympic Foundation has a full page ad showing the 17 members of its Board of Directors. Bruce Linton describes himself as Board Member, MindMed & Executive Chairman, Gage Cannabis.
Comment by Mikeyrob on Dec 16, 2020 10:16am
clearly doesn't want to be associated with this company anymore
Comment by jermoguy on Dec 16, 2020 10:59am
This is consistent with his television appearances and the hats he chooses to wear.  Between those two and Ruckify, that is where his energy is being placed.  I think Bruce enjoys and perhaps his passion is getting companies off the ground and running, almost in the same vein as Terry Matthews.
Comment by 1troffer on Dec 16, 2020 6:24pm
Well it would be nice if Bruce did something to move this pos. Martello is my biggest disappointment .
Comment by Fundmental on Dec 16, 2020 10:19am
Bruce was not the original CEO...
Comment by Mikeyrob on Dec 16, 2020 10:20am
yes he was
Comment by Fundmental on Dec 16, 2020 10:41am
No Niall Gallagher was...then bruce came in
Comment by 1troffer on Dec 16, 2020 6:26pm
The same was said in 2018 and 2019, im unloading all my shares and switching over to other stocks that have more upside. I like Bruce Linton but, fk, my money has been dead for 3 years
Comment by #chickendinner on Dec 15, 2020 7:18pm
This makes no sense Trevor, so why send Proctor to present at the conference?  I get the optics would look bad for Proctor and team but at this point who cares.  If Bruce had presented or even attended with Proctor at the conference on Monday his name alone would have attracted a lot of attention amd the much needed exposure.  We would be looking at a 0.30-0.40 stock price this ...more

I agree but I'm just communicating what was communicated to me.
Comment by Mikeyrob on Dec 15, 2020 7:55pm
Seems bizarre that linton would admit openly to a shareholder that management has been passive and that they have basically done nothing this year to grow.
Comment by panapple42 on Dec 16, 2020 6:52pm
I was wondering if he said it was ok to inform everyone about this "call" ?  Did the "callee" have to sign a waiver?  Just curious.
Comment by Mikeyrob on Dec 16, 2020 6:55pm
I don’t think it would be wise for a person so involved in the company to bash the company. It’s one think to say that he is trying to help accelerate growth but to say that he is embarrassed that there has been no growth does not make sense to me. He is saying that shareholders have not been a priority at all
Comment by panapple42 on Dec 16, 2020 6:59pm
Gee that was fast.  Please provide more details.  I want to know more about how you came up with this response.
Comment by canyousayiii on Dec 16, 2020 8:12pm
Panapple, why don't you try to contribute some thoughts about MTLO.
Comment by Mikeyrob on Dec 16, 2020 8:36pm
I did not even understand his post in response to me so didn’t bother to respond myself. Frankly speaking, most of the people on this board other than yourself, chickendinner, Patience, and Steve are on ignore.

Aha,  an actual human.  Its a miracle really.  Go Gizmo!
Comment by flyboy27 on Dec 15, 2020 8:04pm
Well FFS.. Bruce needs Kevin O'leary to come on board like Med Men..  would be out of this world.  O'Leary likes Tech.....
Comment by PatiencePays123 on Dec 15, 2020 8:46pm
This isn't anything new about organic growth. All the growth recently has come from GSX. Mitel has been flat for some time. I'd rather they get rid of the Mitel business and focus deeper within Microsoft and show really explosive growth numbers. Mitel is boring, Microsoft is not. I am happy to hear he is going to hammer out deals though. Sh!t will get done in 2021 it sounds like. Thanks ...more

Lmao if they got rid of motel there would be no Martello. This is sounding more like a gimmick by the day. In too deep now though
Comment by PatiencePays123 on Dec 15, 2020 9:47pm
no, there would be the growing microsoft group.
Comment by Mikeyrob on Dec 15, 2020 10:22pm
Not at all true, most of the recurring revenue is mitel customers. Do you really think terry Matthews would stick around if we ditched mitel and being the main shareholder this thing would be buried in a week
Comment by PatiencePays123 on Dec 22, 2020 4:19pm
I want to believe Linton, but why doesn't/hasn't he bought more stock in the open market? Lead by example, not with talk.
