Coal Auger mining

Here's a video showing how Auger Mining works with coal.

Each of NAG's Augers can produce 4,000 to 6,000 tons of coal per month,
and thus plan to mine an average of 10,000 tons with the 2 augers used.

ps...its actually funny seeing all the bashers come on board trying
to stop the increase in the NAG price. Probably because
many still believed in daytrading NAG, and sold too soon.
They will soon understand that this is a new stage of the
NAG story, that will bring NAG to new highs on an ongoing
growth basis.

Likesit, you seem to be intent on trying to insist that there are no augers available that can produce the amount that NAG is claiming. Here is one with specs. that did 180,000 in less than 6 months, or at an avg of 30,000 a Month.https://mmacoal.com/auger.html and another https://www.brydet.com/BDAugers.htm Here is another 2 video's on auger mining. https://www.coalaugering.com/about-us.shtm ...more

Wallywill and Riddlethis, let's read NAG's NR once again. My impression is that NAG could not use very powerful auger as the average seam thickness is only 3 ft. I got the conclusion that in order to meet the suggested production rate, we need a lot of small or medium sized augers working simultaneously.  Think about it, 3 ft is not that thick. If we use two augers, each auger has to ...more

Likes,  in terms of pure coal 500 tons i about the size of 10metersx 10 meters and 6.6 meters high, hardly a mountain.  In terms of rock, on average given a specific gravity between 2 and 3 this would be a smaller pile of 10mx10mx2m high.
Comment by likeslt on Oct 26, 2009 12:31pm
simple question, what is the density you used for coal and rocks?  then go back to do the math again.
Comment by Z06 on Oct 26, 2009 12:42pm
I just can't stand it anymore. You gots to go.
Comment by sebastian2 on Oct 26, 2009 1:17pm
Sorry, I did not mean to confuse you, I did not use density, I used specific gravity to translate weight into volume.  Seemed to be a little more precise then 500 tons=mountain :).  I'm not familiar with an SI unit of "mountain".     Simple answer.... look up specific gravity  :).  The mystery will be unraweled ...more

In total fairness, I think 500 ton coal has the volume more or less 20,000 cubic foot.  If you have 150 square feet room (average room size in a house) with 8 feet ceiling, then we need 16 and half rooms to fill all the cool.According NAG’s proposed production rate, each day, each auger need to dig out 16 and half rooms (total packed) of coal, especially we are talking that the coal seam ...more

https://pubs.usgs.gov/circ/c891/table2.htm Close but a little more like 43,560 cu ft= 1800 short tons. Or 500 tons= 12100 cu feet. So that is ~10 of your rooms.
Comment by wallywill on Oct 26, 2009 2:43pm
Sorry likesit but the augers are digging sideways into the seam and not downwards!!! The augers are capable of going in 30 meters. That is about 100 feet into the side of the seams. Exerpt: "The augers are capable of being fitted with various size boring heads to accommodate fluctuations in coal seam thickness and are capable of penetrating to a horizontal depth of more than 30 meters ...more

Wow likesit you amaze me in you lack of DD NAG has permits to utilze auger/highwall mining. I've attached a photo for you to understand that this is the cheapest, fastest and most economical coal mining metod there is. You are not drilling down - you drill sideways into the exposed seam and the coal spins out onto a convor into a truck and off we go to the mill. These auger have the ...more

Hey nice work thanks for the info....I really feel everything about the whole Kentucky mine permitting on production has been done the right way.  Nag has began production advertised on its bullboard and will announce it shortly.. I spoke to one of the IR people today and got a great read in between the lines as nothing can really be said before News is released.. From what I was told don' ...more

likesitAgain you need to learn more about coal seam mining. American Highwall Systems, Inc. (AHS) provides a radical alternative to current highwall mining equipment. With AHS highwall mining systems, mine operators can mine previously unrecoverable coal seams of various heights and slopes and unmatched seam penetrationsSAMPLE FEATURES / BENEFITS:4 Man crew produces up to 1 million tons ...more

Stampede1, i think you have the right attitude for a good discussion. Do you think I just post without any serious DD? I DDed and then posted.  Unlike Hhappy, he can pump with a blue coal sign on the ebay and telling us that the sign price ($131) is blue coal spot price.  Lol, if I was him, I would be so ashamed. NAG mentioned in its NR that the average coal seam is ...more
