News drought question

Would NFG hold back drill results until this financing news was released?  More importantly, can they do that?  Wouldn't a hole (or 5 or 10 holes) with bonanza grades that is a significant step-out from previous bonanza holes be considered material information that would need to be released upon receipt of such news?  Infill drilling results I can see being held back, but not a significant step out, or bonanza grades from a new zone.  If they can deliberately hold back news of that magnitude in order to secure a financing (for 6 weeks+), then what on earth constitutes 'material information'?
