Spammers
I personally wouldn't get too upseat about the spammers who pop up and post odd material on these boards.
If they believe they're going to influence the share price by doing so, I think they're mistaken as I seriously doubt any big-time investor holding enough shares to significantly influence the market price is actually reading these BBs and heeding the comments posted at face value. Instead, I think these BBs are for regular retail investors to engage in discussion and debate about a given stock, either agreeing on a topic or comment, or presenting opposing views, and providing food for thought. Thinking you're going to drive the price up or down significantly by posting on these boards is a waste of time in my opinion.
For those who are concerned that such spammers are influencing new visitors and thus feel the need to respond, I would suggest that anyone who makes any investment decision based in whole or in part on what is posted by any or all of us anonymous people on a BB without at least researching its validity first should perhaps not have invested in the stock in the first place as they likely don't know enough about the company, industry, or stock investing in general to be invested...........reading an article by X, checking a chart, or glancing through some data and jumping in without doing enough research to make you comfortable and confident in your decision is dangerous in my view........

If we post opinions/facts rather than sling mud, those boards would be far more useful. Megacopper's response to my post is a model for all of us. He disagreed respectfully with my post, and, dutifully reported his own opinions. Absolutely nothing personal or offensive. Just honest opinion. Let's all of us copy that 'wise old bird'.
