Looking done the road

Once the mine is built are they going to have any issues with the Inuit?  I've seen mines get ruined with indigenous issues/blockades etc.  Just wondering.  GLTA

qalipu is recognized as a first nation, but, they have no reserve land. Marathon did sign an agreement with them, one of those pro forma things about access to employment, etc. No recognition of mineral rights accruing in the agreement to the best of my knowledge.

My understanding is there are no claims by the Inuit to Newfoundland. The Inuit have made claims to lands in Labrador. Here is a link to the Newfoundland government's own website with a ton of information if you so desire: Land Claims - Office of Indigenous Affairs and Reconciliation (gov.nl.ca) There are however, the Mi'kmaq but their land claims are concentrated on or near the costal ...more

Guys there is nothing to worry about with the indigenous or any other group claiming anything along this structure where New Found Gold has their claims. The town of Conne River has a reserve near the south coast and there are Wilderness areas around Mt. Sylvester but for the most part Newfoundland is a wide open free for all with a big green light open for business and especially ...more

Megacopper STOP ...I thought  I was going lose my bladder on that one. None I got to risk an off color joke. How do you circumcise a Newfoundlander? Nail his foreskin to the floor and play him Don Messer albums. Now Dan is going to have research who Don Messer was when  I used to watch his show regularly as a kid and really got to enjoy the fiddle.  When I was living in NB ...more

So if you guys haven't picked it up yet I am feeling a little surly today. Finally got a abcessed cracked molar looked at yesterday was so gooned on T3's. Of course in the last couple of days I did not get any shares of NFG under $7.00 so just a timing thing as not able to think clearly so now a little ticked off unless the unlikelyhood we go under $7 again.   No fun being in pain. Rest up IKE. Myself and the Rock Doctor drink lots of black Bermuda rum called Gosslings to kill any aches or pains we may encounter and it makes all your worries go away and you feel real good while your at it. Lol. Pour some of that right on your tooth and the pain will be gone in a nanosecond. And drink 3 more doubles to make yourself happy. By the way you still ...more

For what it's worth. Native treaties were made with Canada in the late 1800's and early 1900's. At that time, Newfoundland was a colony of Great Britan and probably didn't negotiate treaties with the natives. Newfoundland became a province of Canada in 1949.
