Gold sector is weak

Well our debut south of the border was a non event. I missed most of today's trading but there didn't seem to be anything earth shattering. I'm not exactly surprised by the minor sell off. Yes I would have liked the share price to close higher but I don't get too bent out of shape over day to day fluctuations. The gold sector remains weak with the price of gold down substantially in September.

I'm still very positive on gold and of course New Found Gold. I think we will start to get some encouraging drill results soon that should cause NFG to trend higher. New Found Gold management has executed on everything they said they would do. So I have complete confidence in the company going forward. I regard the current weakness in the gold sector as an excellent buying opportunity.

What NFG mgmt has just accomplished is frankly mind-boggling. They have simultaneously put the "pins in place" to enable massive appreciation of the stock price while raising financing to fund 2022. This was a necessary but complex first step and a listing on AMEX after only one year on the markets is wickedly fast. Now mgmt needs the financial analysts to come on board and begin NFG ...more

Good post. Looking at it another way, whilst the gold sector is weak its a good time to buy as much as you can afford to. When gold turns as it always does, you will be sitting pretty. It may take a while but it's a good time to accumulate

Martin Roberge, strategist at Cannacord, says that Q4/21 should be good for gold. Daily chart is now sitting on a double bottom that is always a good sign that the worst is behind us!

Bigshot has always wondered, if these so called analysts are so incredibly smart, why are they not also immensely wealthy like Eric Sprott ? Gee, Bigshot wonders. Bigshot is pleased.

Yea I was thinking the same thing with the double bottom for gold. It should turn soon. A lot of younger guys think the cryptos have replaced gold as an inflationary hedge but I don't buy that for one second. If the sh*t hits the fan I'm sticking with gold.

Good post Kewl002 but not sure of your ending.... As a shareholder, frankly we don't need the jewelery box next week because the analysts are not ready yet and the US market doesn't know about us. Build up the excitement first - then drop the bombshell news to get everyone emotionally invested. ....emotionally invested......are you saying we should be in love with this stock? IKE
Comment by Kewl002 on Sep 30, 2021 1:14pm
Hi LikeIke -  no that wasn't my intent. It is dangerous for investors to "fall in love" with any stock as sh**t happens and sometimes tough decisions need to be made. Emotions often make such decisions more difficult. First - It's awesome to have the AMEX listing in place but unless US investors know about NFG  it won't result in much appreciation. So our mgmt has ...more

Gee whiz Dan that is the most diplomatic I have heard a guy told to move along home in some while. Pro independent investor? I had him pegged as a 20 year old still living at home. I thought it was mommy that kept telling him he was big shot after he graduated to depends. Doesn't big shot imply the big boy pants he can now wear?                 ...more

You had him pegged as a 20 year old that was Molly coddled his whole life? I had him pegged as someone who suffers from antisocial personality disorder and escaped the loonie bin. He's been talking to himself on these forums for 4 years now, most of it incessant rambling. He needs a straight jacket or needs some stronger medication, either way he should not be on here.

Great great post Kewl002 ....gives me lots to think about. Being a 4th generation commodity trader I was taught to approach the market in  emotional neutrality. As in markets fear and greed are the biggies and rule the day one way or another but as in futures markets because they are time limited emotional investment is limited as to actually owning something as in a stock theoretically ...more
