Long term trend for gold is higher

The long term trend for the price of gold has been increasing for the past 20 years. I find this site is a good one for playing with the graphs using different timelines.

Central banks flooding the marketplace with liquidity created the stock market strength over the last 12 years.  The end of Quantitative easing means these markets have peaked.  Sustained inflation and rising interest rates herald a bear market.  I don't think any of this has sunk in yet!  I keep hearing "Buy the dip.  Buy the dip" The current silliness in ...more

  We are definitely nearing all time highs for most equity markets. The party looks to be coming to an end. Could be one final blow off. Who knows. Gold usually does well in this part of the cycle as you see some of the enormous profits rotate into gold stocks. The gold sector is relatively small so it doesn't take a lot of capital to send share prices soaring with some of the better ...more

Every time I thought this market had reached its peak, it proved me wrong.  There are definitely some different aspects of this bull run than what I have been used to.  One being the almost neverending propping up of the market by Fed purchases, which we have seen versions of before but not like this.  Add to that retail investors piling in not just with regular stocks but now index ...more
