Reconnaissance drilling on the JBP
For a second pass reconnaissance drill programme the results would thrill most gold exploration companies. There is lots of gold in the JBP system. It is now a hunt to find which splay faults the gold is hiding in.
NSV = No significant values
I'm guessing that there is very little outcrop in this area and everything is buried under till and swamp. That makes finding targets that are only a few metres wide a challenge. Many of the 51 holes were NSV duds but still they provide data on structure and where the gold veins/shear zones are not. This is the first time that I have heard them refer to "shear zones".

Retiredgeo: You are correct in that there is very little outcrop. The area is buried under till and swamp, especially the Pocket Pond area. The drill was on the move often in what appeared to be a search as to where to drill the next hole. All in all these are good results and they now have a better handle on where next to drill.

Plus, they were drilling 'blind' in a sense, without assay results to guide them. Had to decide the next hole based on geology alone. These assays will help them to zero in better.
