Every single mining major in the world has to be salivating over this one now. Most likely it will get bought out before end of year, like GBR! I fully expect Sprott and Kettel to get a deal that gives them the price they want. Most likely it will be an all share offer as they will want to defer taxation if at all possible. Their tax bill on the capital gain will be huge, so makes sense to me at ...more

I think they will wait for drilling to determine the full extent of this property. Guess time will tell.
Comment by suregold1 on Mar 10, 2022 5:28pm
They did not wait on GBR, and I along with at least a couple of other old guys here were holders if Aeriquipa 30 or so years ago. Barrick jumped in after only 6 holes and were rejected but succeded in acquiring it after Aeriquipa drilled another 8 holes. We will have well over 300,000 metres by year end and hundreds of holes. Profitability will never be an issue with NFG, so no need to wait on a ...more

Great post sure gold, i to had Arequipa. The sooner this thing gets bought out the better. There are two complete assholls on this board that don't seem to have a clue how this thing  works.  It would take  10 years and they would be still drilling. Drill some deep holes and sell at years end.

It should happen by year end, but expect anything in this crazy world. Talking about $40 or even $100 per share is just a fantasy. Majors learned their lesson 10 years ago when several of them almost went bankrupt doing insane deals. Even Rio was facing bankruptcy after the Alcan takeover and only survived due to the Chinese cash injection. Almost every other major at the time made the same stupid ...more

I'm not disputing your argument which may happen but why would ES accept less than he made from his Fosterville/Kirkland Lakes plays, especially if it's an all cash offer and ES is on the the record as saying this is bigger and better than Fosterville.
Comment by suregold1 on Mar 11, 2022 10:33am
Some on this board keep talking about the $15 billion Fosterville buyout. There never was a $15 billion buyout just a $1 billion or $4.87 per share. It was an all share deal; as for guys like Sprott deferral of tax is the big benefit in a buyout transaction. He then made the big bucks in the appreciation of KL shares. In all likelihood he and CK will want a similiar deal here. For examle, lets ...more

Suregold what are you trying to do....split the atom? Next you will say ES did not make a billion bucks on the deal in the end. Nobody wants you doing ES taxes for him. Do your own taxes and not mine. IKE

I am not looking for anything. all I am saying is that 2 or 3 entities control exactly what will happen here, and htey have made it very clear what their agenda is. They have no intention of mining this. Never1 So, looking at it from a rational point of view, does anyone think the majors will pay $10 or $15  billion for any junior. Nope, not going to happen, no matter how mcuh we want to see ...more

How tremendously presumptous you are suregold1 what agenda do they have? Do agendas never change or maybe have hidden agendas like you know about? NO ONE has a complete grasp of this complicated geology and yet you keep  comparing it to one that was very simple. You no nothing of the majors so stop saying what they will do next. Average age for males death is 82 and 83 in Austrialia and ...more

Yeah IKE as ES ages, he cuts his expected rate of return on his dollar. Anyone seen Warren Buffet lately. Billionaires are ruthless. ES had done his calcs and knew what the market didn't.  Times are different today. KL wasn't  a major. One thing I do agree with is it may be a good idea to stay with whoever takes out NFG as the big bucks will flow there longer term. There are a ...more

GBR had a mine.  NFG has a mining camp.  You are not comparing apples and apples.  A mining company will pay a whole lot more for a mining camp than it ever would for a mine. GBR had reserves and resources of 8.5 million ozs.  No AISC was ever released but the global average of $1200 USD/oz probably applies.  They received an up front payment of ~$165 USD/oz during ...more

Great post Rediredgeo. I agree that Queensway is a district play with a high probability of several economic high grade gold discoveries. Still early days in the discovery phase. NFG will most likely be sold to a major but it is perhaps a couple years away yet. As far as valuation for NFG there are still too many unknowns and far too early in the their drill program but it is ...more
